Security Guard's License Cancelled After Methamphetamine Conviction

The PSPLA has revoked the Certificate of Approval (COA) for security guard Taiupu Poasa, following his conviction for possession of methamphetamine for supply as off today.

Jason Hunter has lost his security licence after the PSPLA ruled his 22 convictions made him unfit to work in the industry

The PSPLA ordered that Hunter’s COA be cancelled with immediate effect. He must also return his security ID card to the Authority within seven days.

The decision underscores the PSPLA’s stance that security workers must uphold high standards of trust and integrity. In its ruling, the Authority said the number and nature of Hunter’s convictions meant he could not be considered a responsible or reliable member of the industry.

Upper Hutt Emails Spark Backlash Against Graham Bloxham and Mayor Wayne Guppy Connection

The emails, dated 20 September 2025, were not kept private. They were copied to Parliament staff, the NZ Police cyber team, and journalists from Stuff and The Spinoff. Security Worker's License Suspended Following Violent Convictions

WELLINGTON, A New Zealand security worker, Anieta Leijen, has had her certificate of approval (COA) suspended for 16 months after a government authority ruled her recent convictions for violent offenses made her unsuitable to work in the industry. The decision, handed down by the Private Security Personnel Licensing Authority, allows Leijen a path to eventually return to work but only after she completes her court sentences and meets strict conditions aimed at demonstrating her rehabilitation.
